After attending a seminar this weekend, the subject turned onto a political matter. And one quote was 'We don't need a Government'. If this statement is true, what would the World be like? More free? Easy to live, or at least easier? Citizens around the World only seem to give negative opinions about the Government, not just in Canada. An opinion poll this week will be placed on the 'TeenZ' website, and we encourage readers to email their thoughts to us.
Ok so here is my little rant on this subject. A lot of people complain about how much they dislike the government but if you were to take away all the services that your governing body supplies to you I think you would be more than upset and inconvenienced. Our governments do a lot for us. If we didn't have an unbiased governing body (I know some will argue this and I won't always disagree) then who would speak for the weak, for the poor, for the disabled, for the disadvantaged? Who would speak against the unjust, the crooks, the con men, and the people who pray on the weaknesses of others to their advantage? A lot of people would say that they can place politicians in most of the latter qualities, and this is true. Even so, there are just as many do-gooders in the government that are there to be your cheerleaders, but somehow they get type-casted with the rest. It is the government that hears complaints and arranges for special programs to meet those needs. I may be favouring one side more than the other, because there is always two sides to a coin, but I cringe to think people think we don't need a government to maintain order. That would be like assuming the world were an honest place and people won't hurt other people. We need order and we need control.
ReplyDeleteThink about it...even way back in the day when the world was only colonized by small villages there was still some form of government whether it be in the form of a medicine man, an elder, or a council. People need someone to look up too and get help from. Our governments today are just larger and more sophisticated.
I believe that people may have become too reliant on the government and are quick to blame when something goes wrong. When it comes down to it we all have to do our part and I think, in today's world, in the most basic of sense, it starts with ALL OF US raising better children, because better children become better adults and they are the future. Let's make it an honest one!!
